Cabioc
Sep 10, 1931 — Oct 8, 2022
Sand Springs
Lifetime Sand Springs resident, Oakley William "Okie" Cabioc, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, October 8, 2022, at the age of 91. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.
Private family services will be held.
Okie, the son of Cecilio A. Cabioc and Delia Elizabeth (Ball) Cabioc, was born September 10, 1931, in Sand Springs. He graduated with the Sand Springs High School class of 1948. Okie retired from Sheffield Steel Company after 33 years of service. He was a leader, not a follower, and served as president of the United Steelworkers of America Union, Local 2741. He served his community in many ways, including, the beautiful iron work surrounding the Inez Kirk City Garden Park that he and his brother welded.
Okie enjoyed fishing. He was a jokester, always the life of the party and the center of attention wherever he went.
He is preceded in death by his son, Melton "Chief"; daughter, Robin; his parents; and brothers: Melton and Clyde.
Survivors include his loving wife of 42 years, Frances; children: Larry, Cathey, and Kara; grandchildren: Tausha, Autumn, and Jessica; and several great-grandchildren.
Memoral contributions may be made to Sand Springs Community Services, 114 W. 4th St., Sand Springs, OK 74063.
