Pat Putz entered her heavenly home on Saturday, May 17, 2025, at the age of 91. A vibrant and spirited woman, Pat lived life with energy, humor, and an unmistakable spark that left a lasting impression on everyone she met.

Graveside services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Woodland Memorial Park, with Pastor Danny Lynchard officiating. Viewing will be from 12:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday at Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service in Sand Springs, with family present to greet friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.

Born on February 4, 1934, in Ryan, Arkansas, Pat was the daughter of Adrian Otto Carter and Cora Bell (Risener) Carter. She grew up in Ryan and later moved to Sand Springs, Oklahoma, where she would raise her family and spend most of her life.

On May 10, 1951, Pat married Elbert Vawter in her sister's home in Sand Springs. Together they raised their children in Sand Springs, where Pat worked as a waitress and clerk in various restaurants and shops, including Floyd's, Chili's, Nelson's Buffeteria, and Blue Moon Café. Her strong work ethic and lively personality made her well known to customers and coworkers alike.

Later in life, Pat and Elbert went their separate ways, and on March 24, 1972, she married the love of her life, Herbert Joe "Herbie" Putz. Their bond was deep and true. After Herbie's passing in 1983, Pat remained devoted to his memory—no one could ever take his place in her heart.

In her later years, Pat worked as a private duty nurse, continuing to care for others with the same spirit and compassion she showed her family and friends. Pat loved deeply and lived fully. She had a zest for life that kept her always on the go—earning her the unofficial middle name of "go." She adored dancing, shopping (especially for shoes), attending Sunday school at The Father's House, and visiting with everyone she could. Her boisterous laugh and outspoken nature were matched only by her fierce love for her family. She proudly kept an angel collection, a reflection of her kind and faithful heart.

Pat was many things: loud, loving, funny, overbearing, stubborn, strong-willed, and unforgettable. She was still driving until just a few months before her passing—though family and friends might say she never was the best behind the wheel.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herbie Putz; her son, Jack Vawter; daughter, Terri Wright; grandson, Derek Bradley Vawter; her parents; and her siblings: Juanita Farmer, Geneva "Jenny" Adams, Bernice Carter, and Robert Carter.

Pat is survived by her sons, Richard "Rick" Vawter of Oilton and Michael Vawter of Arkansas; grandchildren: Shawn Vawter, Travis Vawter, Dallas "D.J." Vawter, Jon Michael Vawter, Kate Vawter, Richard "Dylan" Vawter, Michael "Dustin" Vawter, Jerica Baker, and Dustin Smith; 15 great-grandchildren; 7 great-great-grandchildren; and niece, Carlyon "C.J." Chipman and husband, Danny.

To know Pat was to love her—or at least be pulled into her orbit of love, laughter, and endless stories. She leaves behind a legacy of resilience, joy, and connection. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
