Patty
Dodson
May 26, 1951 — Feb 26, 2026
Tulsa
Patricia Ann Dodson (Cooper) was born May 26th, 1951, in Stillwater, Ok at Stillwater Hospital to Arthur "Art" LaVon and Mary Jane Cooper (Buntin). Patty, as she was known to many, was the oldest of 3 children. She was the mother to James Robert Dodson and Jentry Marie Moore (Dodson) and the Moma (Grandmother) to Carter, Henry, Jude and Everly Dodson
Patty was steadfast, loyal, and caring. Even in her later years, her mind riddled with dementia, she couldn't be tricked into telling her daughter which one of her children she loved the most. Some moments she didn't even remember she had kids. But the things she never forgot were her grandchildren, or "baby-kids" as she later learned to call them, her husband, Jim, her son-in-law, Adam, her sister-in-law, Sandy, her childhood friend Pat, Germany and all the time she spent there with her lifelong friends, whom she also never forgot. She talked a lot about the cafe her grandma owned in Stillwater when she was a child and her dad being the "ice cream guy" (delivery driver for Borden's).
Patty lived the majority of her early years in the Tulsa area. She was a graduate of East Central High School Class of 1969.
In 1971 she married the love of her life, Jim, and shortly after they moved to Germany. After Germany She lived in Texas, Minnesota and Cleveland, Oklahoma. When she finally settled back in Tulsa, she worked a few different places, most notably Avis and The Oklahoma Medical Examiner's Office, making many close friends along the way.
Patty will be remembered fondly for her sarcastic wit, her interest in True Crime, her beautiful crochet pieces, her fondness of Leon Russell, her admirable work ethic and her unwavering love for her grandchildren.
She will be greeted in Heaven by many people she has missed dearly, including her husband, Jim; her baby sister, Belinda; her parents; grandparents; brother-in-law, Bob; and many other friends and family.
She is leaving behind her son, James; daughter-in-law, Briannah; daughter, Jentry; son-in-law, Adam; and her all-time favorite people, her "Baby Kids" Carter, Henry, Jude and Everly; and many other family and friends.
A memorial service celebrating Patty's life will be held at 2 p.m., Saturday, March 14, with her son, James Dodson officiating. Her service may be viewed live at https://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/120491
