Phillip
Vincent
Jan 17, 1937 — Feb 22, 2024
Tulsa
Phillip Vincent, known affectionately as "Vince" by many, entered his heavenly home on Thursday, February 22, 2024, at University Village in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was 87 years old. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.
Born on January 17, 1937, in Acushnet, Massachusetts, Vince was the son of Manuel Joseph Vincent and Ethel M. (Harrington) Vincent.
Vince was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force. He served his country during the Korean War and the Vietnam War, dedicating 20 years of his life to the service. Vince held the rank of Tech Sergeant (E-6) and was an aircraft mechanic. He completed three foreign tours in Japan, Vietnam, and Guam, before retiring in November of 1973. After his military service, he pursued a career in insurance sales, where he excelled and found great joy. He was known for his friendly demeanor, his ability to connect with people, and his dedication to providing excellent service to his clients. Vince truly enjoyed his work and the relationships he built through it.
Vince met, Acel "Lea" Harkins, while cruising in McAlester, while he was visiting a friend. On July 5, 1957, he married the love of his life, Acel "Lea" Harkins, in Krebs. Together, they shared a beautiful life until Lea's passing on July 7, 2015. Vince and Lea were blessed with four children: Julie Davis of Mannford, Kevin Vincent and wife, Tez of Tulsa, Jeff Vincent and wife, Lisa of Mannford, and Mark Vincent and wife, Debbie of Sand Springs. Vince was preceded in death by his parents, and nine brothers and sisters.
Vince was a devoted family man and a proud grandfather to 14 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. He cherished his family and instilled in them values of patriotism, respect for their parents, and a deep love for God.
Vince was a member of Mannford Christian Fellowship, where he found solace and community. He was an avid sports fan, particularly passionate about the Boston Red Sox and the Dallas Cowboys. Vince was known for his competitive spirit which sometimes could include a little trash talk, and his dedication to coaching little league.
Vince will be remembered for his social nature, his love for conversation, and his unwavering faith. He lived a life centered around his top three priorities: his beloved Red Sox, his cherished family, and his deep faith in God.
A funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday, February 26, at the Mobley-Groesbeck Chapel, officiated by his grandsons, Pastor Christopher Davis and Pastor Ryan Vincent. The service may be viewed live at https://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/98294 .
