In Loving Memory

Phillip R. Wright, born to John D. Wright Sr. and Leslie Ozell, and brother to John D. Wright Jr. and George D. Wright, has peacefully passed away. He is survived by his cherished Lab, Strom, and a circle of close friends whom he regarded as family.

Educated at Tulsa Central High School, Oklahoma State University, and the University of Tulsa, Phillip further honed his skills at the Command and General Staff Colleges and the National Defense University during his military service.

Throughout his life, Phillip was an active member of various organizations, including Kappa Alpha at OSU, Golden Key at OSU, Scabbard and Blade at OSU, Thia Delta Kappa at Tulsa Community College, and held an Oklahoma Master Naturalist Certificate. He was also a proud member of the Military Officers Association.

In his own words, Phillip reflected on a life well-lived: "Between the beginning and the end, I have lived well, laughed often, and loved much." His journey took him across the globe, experiencing the beauty of diverse landscapes, from snow skiing and scuba diving to sailing. Phillip found joy in water fowling, hunting birds, and his deep affection for dogs, particularly Labs, English Setters, and Weimaraners.

A man of profound wisdom, Phillip shared three fundamental beliefs: "Better to tell the truth than a lie." "Better to know than to be ignorant." "Better to be free than to be a slave."

Phillip will be dearly missed for the simple pleasures he treasured: the camaraderie in a duck blind at sunrise, the aromatic blend of wet willows, coffee, and half-frozen donuts, the thrill of turkey hunting, and the grace of a Bobcat in the early morning. His absence leaves behind the memories of trout rising to his fly, the full sails on Grand Lake or the Virgin Isles, and the countless moments shared with loved ones.

May Phillip R. Wright's spirit forever live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
