Randy Wayne
Moreland
Nov 25, 1957 — Jul 1, 2025
Tulsa
Randy Wayne Moreland, lifelong Tulsan, caring friend, and proud father, departed this life on Tuesday, July 1, 2025, at the age of 67. Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.
Viewing will be held 12-6 p.m., Sunday, July 6, at the funeral home.
Born on November 25, 1957, at Hillcrest Hospital in Tulsa, Randy was the son of Elmer Clarence Moreland and Mary Lotta (Owens) Moreland. He grew up in Tulsa, attended Central High School, and was known in his youth for his athleticism and love of baseball. As a teenager, he got his first job working for Bill Lowe at the stockyards, which sparked a lifelong work ethic rooted in the construction trades. Randy spent most of his working life as a skilled drywaller in the construction industry.
On May 1, 1981, Randy married Lisa Kay Wright in Claremore. They built a life together and raised their family with love and devotion. Lisa preceded him in death in 2003.
Randy was known by all for his magnetic personality and his ability to strike up a conversation with anyone. He never met a stranger and was always the life of the party—spending many memorable evenings at Ed's Hurricane Lounge, one of his favorite local spots. His brother Jeff fondly remembers Randy's natural ability to swim "like a fish" and his love for horses. He also took pride in his auctioneering skills and lived life with a spontaneous, carefree spirit.
A minimalist at heart, Randy didn't care much for material things—what mattered most to him was being present and enjoying the moment. He was kind, loyal, and endlessly fun-loving. His signature phrase, "Hell yeah," summed up his zest for life.
Randy was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Lisa Moreland; his parents, Elmer and Mary Moreland; sisters: Carol Mahaffey, Mary Lee Brady, and Barbara Stewart; and his oldest brother, Ronald Moreland.
He is survived by his children: Matthew Moreland, Jesse Moreland, and Lindsey Black; his grandchildren: Garrett, Jace, Jordan, and Destiny Kay; and his brother, Jeff Moreland and wife, Sonia. Randy leaves behind a wide circle of friends who will miss his humor, warmth, and easygoing presence.
