Randy Scott
Spahr
May 12, 1952 — Jun 19, 2024
Sapulpa
Randy Scott Spahr, born on May 12, 1952, passed away on June 19, 2024, surrounded by friends and family. Randy was born to Ryder Scott Spahr and Jerri Simpson Fulton, who preceded him in death.
Randy attended Edison High School, graduating with the Class of 1971. He served his country in the Army, stationed at various bases in Germany until he was honorably discharged in December of 1976. After his service, he returned home to Tulsa and began working at Creitz Automotive, where he continued to hone his love of working on cars, a passion that started with his dad. Randy broadened his career path by achieving an associate degree in Engineering, allowing him to still utilize his mechanic skills while working in the oil industry as a Project Engineer and Project Manager.
Randy was an avid stock car enthusiast and made many great friends in the stock car arena. He was also heavily involved in the AGHA Oklahoma Pigeon Association, where he ran the Tulsa show for over 25 years. He served as vice-president and president of the association, as well as running the Futurity for over 40 years. He was awarded the lifetime achievement award in part due to his generous donation of time and skills, which made the sport more enjoyable and accessible to many.
While Randy enjoyed his hobbies, his greatest pride was his family. Since the day he met Cheryl at her beauty salon, he never missed a haircut from her for over 43 years. Cheryl describes their first encounter as love at first sight; she fell for his beautiful eyes, smile, and thick head of hair, and he fell for her confidence and beauty. In 1983, he married Cheryl Pike, and together they raised their two daughters, Erica and Rachael. Randy was a spectacular "girl dad," actively participating with them in cheerleading, basketball, volleyball, and competitive barrel riding with great gusto and enthusiasm.
In 2006, a new level of love was unlocked for Randy when he became a Granddad to his firstborn grandson, Jackson Lamberton, born to Erica. Randy always displayed his love and pride when it came to watching Jackson grow into a wonderful adult who visited his loving Granddad daily. His daughter Rachael bore three daughters, Sofia, Cecilia, and Annabelle Sbaschnig, who stole Randy's heart. It was clear the three girls had Randy wrapped around his finger at all times.
Randy was preceded in death by his parents, Scott Spahr and Jerri Fulton. He is survived by his wife, Cheryl Spahr; daughter Erica Donaldson and her husband Clint; daughter Rachael Spahr; his beloved grandchildren, Jackson, Sofia, Cecilia, and Annabelle; his aunt Sherri Carter, with whom he shared a birthday, and her husband Jerry; his brother, Rob Spahr and his wife Leesa; Cheryl's mother, Betty Howe, and her husband Stan, who provided unwavering support during these difficult last few years; brother-in-law Bobby Pike; and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Randy Scott Spahr will be deeply missed by all who knew him, and his legacy of kindness, dedication, and enthusiasm for life will live on in the hearts of his loved ones.
