Richard Neal Yerton, lovingly known as "Popa," entered his heavenly home on Friday, May 23, 2025, at the age of 69. A faithful servant, devoted family man, and hard-working craftsman, Richard's life was marked by love, humility, and generosity. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.

A graveside service celebrating Richard's life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 31, 2025, at Oak Hill Cemetery in Mannford, with Brother Ray White officiating. Viewing will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday at Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service in Sand Springs.

Born on August 15, 1955, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Thomas Roland Yerton and Nora Nadine (Denton) Yerton, Richard grew up in Tulsa and graduated from Central High School in 1973. He began his career at the Box Factory, where fate stepped in—he was introduced to Susan Dianne "Susie" Goodwin by a co-worker. That blind date turned into a love story that lasted a lifetime. With daughters the same age, Richard and Susie instantly became inseparable and were married on February 22, 1981, at Crestview Church of Christ in Tulsa.

After the Box Factory closed, Richard worked for the City of Tulsa, where he negotiated landscaping contracts for the Tulsa International Airport. He retired in 2021, though he never stopped working. His side hustle—and passion—was lawn care, maintaining over 25 lawns. In addition, Richard was a gifted woodworker who could craft anything. Often, he would surprise his loved ones with handcrafted pieces they hadn't even asked for—he simply knew what would bring them joy.

Richard was a man of service and faith. A dedicated member of Lakeside Church of Christ, he did whatever was needed—always willing, always dependable. He was a constant presence in the lives of his daughters and grandchildren, cherishing every special moment, especially his beloved daddy-daughter days.

Those who knew Richard remember his simple, giving spirit. He was Godly, patient, honest, and full of love for everyone. He lived to serve others and left a legacy of integrity and kindness that will continue through his family and those he touched.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Susie in 2023; his parents; and his brother, Russell Yerton.

He is survived by his loving daughters, Valarie Jowers and partner Clay Harless, and Kim Jordan and husband Delvin; his brother, Robert Yerton and wife Ish; his sister, Rebecca Bingham and husband Gary; and sister-in-law, Virginia Yerton. Richard was a proud grandfather to Breanna Bill, Delvin "D-bo" Jordan, Jr., Dasia Jordan, Derek Jowers, Erin Jowers, and Darrian Jordan, and great-grandfather to Braylen, Indie, and Khylo. He is also survived by numerous other family members, friends, and his church family.
