Ricky Lee Treat entered his heavenly home on Thursday, February 13, 2025, at the age of 72. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.

Funeral services celebrating Ricky's life will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, February 21, at Memorial Park Cemetery Chapel, with his father-in-law, Rev. Gregory Fields, Sr., officiating. Viewing will be held at the funeral home from 12-8 p.m. on Thursday, with family greeting friends from 5-8 p.m. Flowers should be sent to the funeral home.

Ricky was born on April 21, 1952, at St. John Hospital in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to John Lloyd Treat and Lima Lavae (Enyart) Treat. He grew up in Old Prue before his family moved to Sand Springs, where he began elementary school. Ricky graduated from Charles Page High School in 1970. During high school, he took carpentry classes, helping to build two new homes in Sand Springs. He was a member of both the carpentry and chess clubs.

Following high school, Ricky pursued a career in skilled trades, becoming an apprentice in the four-year program with Local 592 Boilermaker Union. He worked diligently until his retirement in 2006, rising to the role of supervisor. He was a master of his craft, excelling in reading blueprints, welding, and working as a journeyman.

Beyond his career, Ricky had a deep love for nature and the outdoors. He enjoyed fishing, often casting his line from the bank. A lover of wildlife, he fed birds daily and kept a deer camera to watch over the animals he nurtured. In his younger years, he was an avid quail hunter. Gardening was another passion, and he took great pride in growing vegetables.

Ricky was a beloved figure in his community, earning the affectionate title of "sheriff" for his protective nature. His presence made everyone feel safe, and he actively rallied the community for special projects. Known for his generosity, he never hesitated to buy meals for those in need, help people with gas money, or offer a ride.

A twist of fate led Ricky to the love of his life, Tawanna Renee Fields, when he accidentally dialed the wrong number. What followed was a connection that grew into an inseparable bond. They were together for 28 years and married on January 28, 2002, in Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Ricky and Tawanna were perfect partners. The foundation of his family was very important to him. He cherished his family, relishing family reunions and taking spontaneous road trips just for the adventure. He was known for his humor, compassion, and strategic thinking. A talented card player, he especially loved poker, often winning against friends and family. Ricky also enjoyed playing dominoes. He was meticulous and organized, great with math and numbers, and highly intelligent. He was bilingual, speaking both Spanish and English.

Ricky is preceded in death by his parents; mother-in-law, Isabella Narcissus Fields; and siblings: Illiana Wall, David Treat, Ladonna Sue Nichols, Jean Earlene Lunt, Ronnie Treat, and Connie Sue Ford.

He is survived by his loving wife, Tawanna Treat; children: Kayla Lavae Barnes of Pryor, Jason Lewis Treat and wife, Michelle of Chouteau, Nataly Treat and fiance, Ronnie, of New Smyrna Beach, Florida, Amey Lee Treat and fiance, Pedro, of Orlando, Florida, and Nicholas Shaun Treat and wife, Emily of Kellyville; grandchildren: Madelyn Barnes, Nathan Barnes, Aria Brock, Zoe Treat, Joshua Treat, Lucas Treat, Athena Cochran, Cameron Cascina, and Carson Cascina; great-granddaughter, Ellie Shankle; father-in-law, Gregory Fields, Sr.; sisters-in-law, Serina Fields and Samantha Fields; brother-in-law, Gregory Fields, Jr. and wife, Judy; brother-in-law, Charles "Skeeter" Ford; as well as a host of nephews, nieces, extended family members, and friends.
