Dr. Ron Heim, 74, a long-time Sandite and family doctor to many area families passed away in Tulsa on Tuesday, November 20, 2018, with his family members gathered around him.   Visitation will be from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, Saturday, and Monday, and from 1:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Sunday.  The family will be greeting friends at the funeral home from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Sunday and from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday.  Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 27, 2018, at Reach Church, 1402 N 81 ^st W Ave, with Reverend Fred Waldrep officiating.  Arrangements have been entrusted to Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service.

One of four sons of John Louis Heim Jr. and Norma Agnes (Buras) Heim, he was born in New Orleans, LA, on December 6, 1943, where the family lived until moving to Tulsa around 1950.  After graduating from Tulsa Central High School in 1961, he worked for a local business for a while and in 1962 he began training in the Radiology School of Hillcrest Medical Center and then joined their Radiology Dept for several years.  It was during this time that his desire to become a doctor was given birth, so he began the long educational journey to reach his goal.  After graduating from the University of Tulsa in 1971, he began his studies at the Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine and graduated from that school in 1975.  Ron completed his internship at Oklahoma Osteopathic Hospital and began his medical career with his own practice in Sand Springs and in later years as a General Practice Physician with Warren Clinic until his retirement.  He loved his profession and the people he was able to help through the years, including many people from the neighborhood he grew up in.

Family was very important to him and the bigger the family gathering the better for him.  Christmas with the Heim brothers and their families was a highlight each year as we all got together for the "Heim Family Christmas" where the food and fellowship were abundant.  He and Linda also enjoyed many trips to Branson with John and Joyce Heim, with nearly every trip including a show by "The Platters"  to hear their many hit songs from our teen and young adult years.  The trip home usually included us singing our rendition of the songs.

Surviving Ron are his wife of 55 years, Linda; daughters Rhonda and husband Dr. Jozef Dzurilla of Owasso and their daughters Katie and Belle, Robin Heim-Buthod and husband Bill Buthod of Tulsa and their daughters Angela and Mary Claire, and Regina Heim-Carpenter and husband Joel Carpenter of Stillwater and their children Ronnie, Johnny, and Gracie.  Ron is also survived by brothers Louis Heim and wife Jackie of Tulsa, John L. Heim III and wife Joyce of Sand Springs, and Roy Heim and wife Sherry of Tulsa, and many nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews, other family members, and many former patients and their families and former co-workers.

Preceding him in death were his parents John and Norma Heim, his in-laws Percy and Jean Chalk, and his brother-in-law Russell Chalk.
