The daughter of William Hub Jordan and Mary Jane (Edwards) Jordan was born January 16, 1945, in Stigler. The family moved to Stillwater after WWII, where her father attended Oklahoma State University. After he finished school, the family moved to Sand Springs where he became the city's first Health Inspector. Alyce played clarinet in the high school band, and graduated from Charles Page High School. She married Sammy Morrison; and they were blessed with four daughters: Sammi, Shelly, Stacey, and Sydney. They raised their girls in Jacksonville, FL, and Austin, TX, before returning to Sand Springs. After 22 years of marriage, they went their separate ways.

When the girls were teenagers, Alyce went to work at Rockwell where she was a Composite Fabricator working on the structure of space ships. She truly enjoyed the work she did there. She met the love of her life, Nelvin Sylvester Hankins, while learning to become a pilot. He was her flight instructor. They were married in June of 1986 at Broadway Baptist Church, and made their home in Sand Springs. She cherished her time with Nelvin, flying in their plane and fishing. They attended Word of Life Church for many years, and later were longtime members of Olivet Baptist Church.

Alyce was a strong, independent woman, that dearly loved her family. She cherished the time spent playing with her grandchildren; and enjoyed helping her daughter, Stacey, with her in home daycare. The grandchildren looked forward to staying at grandmother's, and enjoyed chiming in with Granddad Nelvin making fun of her driving. She loved holiday's spent with the family, and they were recipients of her beautifully decorated cakes. Alyce was also a talented gardener, and shared the fruits of her labor with many family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Nelvin in 2013; her daughter, Sydney Chelf in July 2021; her parents; and great-grandson, Justin Lee James Morrison.

Survivors include her daughters: Sammi Jane Morrison, Shelly Prosser (Kelly), and Stacey Hilligoss (Jim) all of Sand Springs; son-in-law, Oscar Chelf of Tulsa; sisters: Sue Blackmore of Austin, TX, Marketa Manchester of Sand Springs, and Judy Jordan of Sand Springs; grandchildren: Saharra, Jessica, Olivia, Deidra, Debbie, Julia, Elizabeth, Zay, Robert, Mandy, and Madisen; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Memorial contributions may be made in Nelvin's honor to the Alzheimer's Association, 2448 E 81st St Ste. 3000, Tulsa, OK 74137, or www.alz.org.
