Sebe Edwin Avey entered his heavenly home on Friday, October 3, 2025, at the age of 66. A beloved son, father, brother, grandfather, and friend, Sebe's life was marked by kindness, humor, and a deep love for family and the simple joys of life.

Born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, Sebe was the cherished son of John Edwin Avey and Doris Loretta (Bennefield) Avey. He grew up in Sand Springs, where he graduated from Charles Page High School and proudly played trumpet in the marching band. His early years were filled with music, laughter, and a growing passion for mechanics and engineering.

Sebe's adventurous spirit led him to work briefly in the oil fields of Libya alongside his brother, a chapter of his life that reflected his courage and willingness to embrace new challenges. He later built a career as a first-class mechanical engineer, specializing in boiler systems. His dedication and skill earned him the respect of colleagues and friends alike.

A true car enthusiast, Sebe found joy in working on vehicles and riding dirt bikes. He loved to talk about cars and could often be found sharing stories, cracking jokes, and enjoying the company of those around him. His fun-loving nature and warm personality made him a joy to be around.

Sebe's journey through life took him from Sand Springs to Prue, where he lived for 20 years, and eventually to Claremore, where he made his home. He was a man of resilience, having experienced both love and loss. He was married to Tonya Sue Case, with whom he shared five years and a son, Michael. Later, he married Linda, and though their time together was brief, it was filled with love until her passing in 1994.

Sebe is preceded in death by his father, John Edwin Avey. He is survived by his loving mother, Doris Avey; his devoted son, Michael Avey and wife Ashley; his brothers, John Avey and wife Beverly, Donald Avey, Jim Avey, and Ben Avey; his sister, Sherry Gates; and his treasured grandchildren: Vincent Avey, Lillian Avey, Elizabeth Roberts, Ayden Travis, and John Travis.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Sebe's life at 1 p.m. on Friday, October 10, at the Jim Groesbeck Memorial Chapel at Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service in Sand Springs, with Pastor Don Cook officiating. Burial will follow at Woodland Memorial Park. A viewing will be held at the funeral home on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m.

Sebe's legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him. His laughter, stories, and generous spirit will be deeply missed but fondly remembered.
