Sharon Lorene Cox departed this life on Thursday, November 21, 2024, at the age of 79. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.

Sharon was born on December 23, 1944, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to Curtis Oliver Lamb and Virginia Lorene (Mattingly) Lamb. She grew up in the Bruner Hill area and graduated from Charles Page High School in 1962.

While still in high school, Sharon met the love of her life, Arthur Glenn Cox, on a blind date. They became high school sweethearts and were married on June 22, 1962, in Tulsa. Together, they made their home in Sand Springs, raising their two children, Lisa and Kurtis.

Sharon worked as a record keeper for the Sand Springs Home and later for Utica Park Clinic, retiring in 2012. Her commitment to family and community was evident in her roles as a softball coach and Girl Scout leader for Lisa. She and Glenn shared many joyful years as members and past officers of the Whistle Stop Travelers Square Dance Club in Sand Springs, and Sharon cherished time spent playing bunko with her friends and hunting for treasures at garage sales.

Family was Sharon's greatest joy, and she especially loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her December birthday made Christmas a particularly special time of year for her loved ones. Sharon and Glenn also enjoyed quiet moments together on the front porch swing.

A longtime member of Sand Springs Methodist Church and the Methodist Women's Group, Sharon lived a life rooted in faith and service.

Sharon is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Glenn in 2007; her parents; and siblings: Curtis Eugene Lamb, Thomas Andrew Lamb, and Thelma Kay Collins.

She is survived by her her children: Lisa West of Kellyville, and Kurtis Cox and wife, Molly of Beggs; siblings: Billy Joe Lamb and wife, Barbara, and Rena Louise Pearceful and husband, Rick; her beloved grandchildren: Rachel West, Levi West, Leah West, and Kallie Cox; and great-grandchildren: Ivy and J.J., who will carry her memory in their hearts forever.
