Sharron's absence is larger than her presence and the grief we all share for her is evident of the love she gave us all.

Sharron Lavada Ney, age 79, passed from this life on June 25, 2026. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.

Sharron lived her life out loud leaving behind a legacy by inspiring everyone who knew her. You knew when you were in her presence, as her love and laughter filled the room -and your heart. Prior to the devastating stroke, Sharron ran circles around the rest of us. She was either hanging out with the great grandkids or tinkering in her garden, playing with her dog Baily (RIP), trying her luck at the casino, out to eat, playing pool, or chasing down a race to go watch with her best buds Brother Bill and cousin Chester McLaughlin. She was very strong in her faith and was a proud patriot. She loved to smell flowers and candles and was a great cook and an even better dancer, winning many local competitions with her brother Bill. Since her stroke she had become a beloved member of The Gardens in Sapulpa (special thanks to the staff, their love for Mom shined through) and she apparently had been holding out on all of us with her mean domino skills. She played every Sunday with Uncle Bill and Chester, and in recent weeks had been dominating them, and quite proudly.

Over the years Sharron wore many hats. She began her career at what is now known  as Smith-Fibercast before working in several different industries. She owned a café and worked for Child Support Services, but waitressing and bartending were where she truly shined, because everyone loved "Mom".

She was preceded in death by her parents Henry "Bud" LaPorte and Jolene Fanning Lanham, and siblings, Johnnie Elizabeth Keeling and Gilbert LaPorte.

She is survived by her siblings, Donna Lynn Wilberg, Bill LaPorte and Christy Lanham; children, Sheryl Lynn Berklacy, Jan Barnes, Kevin Ney; grandchildren, Kera (Matt) Blacet, Brandee (Brandon) Paddock, Dayton Barnes, Andrea Lauren (Nick) Dotson, Ethan (Ashley) Barnes, Alex Berklacy, Garrett Ney, Ashley Ney, Adam Berklacy, Shonda Ney; 16 great grandchildren, and she was "Mom" to many.

Sharron's absence is larger than her presence and the grief we all share for her is evident of the love she gave us all.
