Sherry Renee
Durborow
Oct 24, 1956 — Aug 5, 2026
Cleveland
Her warm smile, compassionate heart, and joyful personality could brighten any room.
Sherry Renee Durborow, 69, of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, joined her beloved husband in their heavenly home on Wednesday, August 5, 2026. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.
She was born on October 24, 1956, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, to William Eugene "Bill" Bean and Beverly Ann (Boyer) Bean. Sherry grew up in Sand Springs and graduated from Charles Page High School with the Class of 1975. She later attended Northeastern A&M College, where she studied art.
While attending college, Sherry met the love of her life, David James Durborow. The two were united in marriage on August 20, 1977, and shared 41 wonderful years together before David's passing. Their marriage was built on faith, family, friendship, and a lifetime of working side by side.
Sherry had a servant's heart and found great joy in helping others. She worked as a teacher's assistant at Lake Country Christian School, Limestone Elementary School, and Garfield Elementary School, where her kindness, patience, and gentle spirit made a lasting impact on countless children and their families.
In 1996, Sherry and David purchased the family business, Bean Plumbing & Electric, proudly continuing a legacy that served the community for more than 61 years. Never afraid of a new adventure, they expanded their entrepreneurial spirit by opening a car wash in 2001 and adding an automatic car wash in 2007. Sherry especially enjoyed visiting with customers, making friends with everyone she met, and treating each person like family.
A gifted artist, Sherry's talent earned recognition at the Tulsa State Fair. She loved painting, arts and crafts, and decorating her home for every holiday. Whether it was Christmas, Easter, Halloween, or the Fourth of July, Sherry found happiness in making every season feel special for those she loved.
Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She was a devoted wife, a loving mother to Kelly and Bradley, and a proud Nana to Nathan, Brynlee and Landon. She treasured every opportunity to spend time with her grandchildren, whether shopping, celebrating milestones, or simply making memories together.
Sherry also loved working in the yard, helping her parents whenever she could, and spending time with her sister, Sondra. She and David especially enjoyed cruising together in their beautifully restored 1967 Oldsmobile Cutlass, a labor of love that David built and one they proudly shared.
Sherry was a faithful member of St. Patrick Catholic Church, where her faith remained an important part of her life. In her younger years, Sherry participated in numerous school organizations, including VICA, Vo-Tech activities, FFA, and FBLA. Her warm smile, compassionate heart, and joyful personality could brighten any room, and she will be remembered for the love and kindness she freely gave to everyone she met.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 41 years, David James Durborow; and her parents, Bill and Beverly Bean.
She is survived by her daughter, Kelly Durborow and son, Nathan; her son, Brad Durborow and wife, Sarah; her cherished grandchildren, Nathan, Brynlee, and Landon; her sister, Sondra Tilley and husband, David; along with many cousins, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, dear friends, and extended family who will forever treasure her memory.
A Rosary will be prayed at 6:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at St. Patrick Catholic Church. Viewing will be held from 12:00 to 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at St. Patrick Catholic Church.
