Thomas William "Woody" Woods departed this life on Saturday, March 4, 2023, at the age of 57. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.

Woody was born December 16, 1965, in Litchfield, Connecticut, to James Boyd Woods and Carol (Morse) Woods. He graduated from Marian High School in Framingham, Massachusetts. Woody went on to serve in the U.S. Marine Corps where he received many awards including Good Conduct Medal, Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal (Arabian Gulf), Humanitarian Service Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Meritorious Unit Commendation (w/3 stars), Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (w/ 2 stars), and Basic Parachutist Insignia. He medically retired in 1992, returning to Boston before relocating to Texas. It was in San Antonio where he met the love of his life, Laura Lee. They were married on December 31, 2007, in San Antonio. They moved to Sand Springs where they have lived for the past 8 years.

Woody was a member of the Albert E. Schwab Detachment 857 Marine Corps League in downtown Tulsa, DAV (Disabled American Veterans), and the ROMEO Club (Retired Old Men Eating Out). He enjoyed collecting coins and shooting his weapons.

He was warm hearted, kind, funny, and adored his wife. He was also generous and willing to help anyone.

Woody is preceded in death by his mother, Carol Woods.

He is survived by his loving wife, Laura; stepchildren: Stephanie Jenkins and Dennis Pyle; grandchild, Elliott Jenkins; father, James Boyd Woods; sister, Susan Woods; niece, Caroline Vanmeerbeek; and nephew: Lloyd Harris.
