Tressella Malaine

Jun 17, 1961 — Feb 13, 2024
Tulsa
Tressella M. Scanlan-Goodman was born on June 17th, 1961, in Tulsa, Oklahoma, where she lived, and passed away on February 13th, 2024; she was 62 years old. She was preceded in death by her mother, Netta N. Ramer; her fathers, Sylvester E. Goodman Sr., and Eddie H. Wheeler; three brothers, T.J. Goodman, Lancelot A. Goodman, and Wayne D. Goodman. She is survived by her husband, Carl P. Scanlan; three daughters, Amber K. Zollars, April E. Zollars and Rebecca Mastin; four sons, Morgan E. Zollars, Jordan K. Tomplait, Johnny L. Collins, and Tyler Mastin;12 grandchildren, Jade, Jewel, Hope, Morgan, Kandis, Michael, Jamison, Aurora, Nova, Jace, Jalaina, Nile, and Robert; four- and one-half great-grandchildren, Liam, Naomi, Benjamin, Ryker, and an upcoming edition, Oaklee Tressella Kay McClaran! She also leaves behind five sisters, Netta Inez Goodman, Katy Goodman, Glenda Goodman, Tammy Crossland, and Angie Long; two brothers "Buster" (Sylvester ) E. Goodman Jr., and John Stiger, plus many other family members and friends.
Tressella loved lilies, but her favorite was the Tiger Lily, which boasts impressive vibrant orange blooms sloping downward, adorned with black and crimson spots - resembling that of a tiger's skin. The flower will not reach its anthesis stage for the first two years. Then, in the third, its striking existence and beauty will only bloom for one day out of every 365. Then, it is gone... until the following year when it makes its next dramatic reappearance. At times,Tressella could be just as dramatic, She is among the kindest and most giving people I have ever met. She would gladly give up her last dollar if she thought you needed it and often offered her own home if someone needed a place to stay. She was honest, true to herself and others, loyal to her family and friends, and she could not stand the thought of someone going hungry. She loved deeply and was deeply loved in return. She was often candidly outspoken, funny, passionate, and fiery. She had many loves: her children and grandchildren, her husband, family get-togethers, dogs, yard sales, and frogs.
Additionally, she was a fantastic artist, and even though she had not painted for many years, her creative gift was passed on and now shines through her granddaughters. She was also an animated storyteller, a great cook, and a skilled dancer when she was young, but more than anything else, she was a loving mother, grandmother, wife, daughter, and sister. Tressella's exquisite grace and beauty came naturally through her kindness toward people and her caring nature. She taught many of us to want to be better just by simply knowing her.
Like the prolific Tiger Lily, Tressella's stunning and ethereal presence on this earth was far too short. She left us wanting more, but just like The Tiger Liliy's dramatic reappearance that we wait so patiently for year after year, one day we will see Tressella again. Only this time, the
stunning Tiger Lily will be of no comparison.
Until We Meet Again...
All My Love,
Your Daughter, Amber Kay
