Waymon C. Westcott, aged 90, passed away Oct. 13, 2026. Waymon was born July 15, 1936, to Minnie Rae and Melvin Westcott in Yell County, AR. He had one sister and two brothers, all deceased including his parents. He also has a grandson, Wesley Allen, who is deceased.

Waymon began his lifelong career as a carpenter at age 18 at retired at age 64. 

Early in his life he began teaching Junior boys in Sunday School at Mayfair Baptist Church, and from there he moved on up to Adults at Grace Baptist. But Waymon talked often about the twelve years he spent as teacher at the Heavenly High-Way Church at the West Edison Retirement Center. However, as rewarding as all that was, it did not take the place of his family. His wife Jean of 70 years, he said was the love of his life. His three children, Nancy, Wayne and David, he said were gifts from God. Then he would say there is really no difference in the love for your children and the love you feel for your grandchildren and great grandchildren. "God has blessed me with a great life," he would say, and nod his head.
