Wendell W.
Blanton
Aug 18, 1940 — Aug 2, 2024
Tulsa
Wendell Blanton was a son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. He served in the Army when he came of age, demonstrating his love for his country. Wendell married his first wife, Bonnie, and they had five children together: Mary, Wendell, Sheila, Ronnie, and Sonny. Later, he met his second wife, Betty, who had three children: Marty, Virgil, and Donna. Wendell loved her children as his own.
He worked hard all his life until he was forced into retirement. When he discovered he had cancer, he fought hard to beat it. Wendell enjoyed working in his yard and loved family gatherings. He and Betty were always together, both at work and at home. He was thrilled when she retired so they could spend all their time together.
Wendell was known for his pranks, often picking on friends, coworkers, and especially family. His jokes and laughter were infectious; sometimes, he would laugh so hard that others couldn't understand him, but his laughter alone would make everyone else laugh.
Wendell is survived by his brothers, Bill, Howard, Jack, Frank, George, and his sister, Tammy. He was a grandfather of 31 and a great-grandfather of 36.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Jess and Lenora; his sister, Shirley; brother, Sam; daughter, Sheila; and stepson, Marty.
Wendell was a great man, full of life and love.
