Harmon
Oct 11, 1934 — Oct 27, 2024
Sand Springs, Ok
Wilfred Jack Harmon, aged 90, passed away on October 27, 2024, in Sand Springs, Oklahoma. Always known as Jack, he was born and raised in the vicinity of Estacada, Oregon. Jack graduated from Estacada High School in 1953.
While still in high school he joined the U.S. Naval reserve, then upon graduation served his country with active duty in the U.S. Navy Seabees until 1955. His military service was a significant chapter in his life, reflecting his commitment to duty and country.
Jack then studied at Seattle Technical in Seattle, Washington, to become a mechanical draftsman which is what he dedicated most of his working career towards.
A loving father and husband, Jack's family was the cornerstone of his life. He was an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and wood working. After retirement, Jack and his wife Marjie travelled extensively logging thousands of miles all across the continental United States, Hawaii, Alaska, Canada and Mexico as well as many shipboard cruises. During his retirement he also took up wood turning. Started out making pens and salt and pepper shakers, progressed to beautiful bowls and plates. Always had a joke to tell.
He is survived by his wife, Marjie Harmon; sons, Jack and his wife Connie, Jeff, and Bruce; six grandchildren, Amie Mullins, Brandy Shoemaker, Dustin Harmon, Jesi Adams, Sam Harmon, Areanna Romero; and twelve great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 on November 16 at the home of his son, Jack Harmon of Hominy, Oklahoma. This gathering will serve as a celebration of his life and legacy.
