Willard Jerry Shipley entered his heavenly home on Friday, September 8, 2023, at The Cottage at Woodland Hills at the age of 85. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.

Willard was born September 1, 1938, in Tulsa to Francis Shipley, Sr. and Edna May (Allen) Shipley.  He grew up in a large family of boys in the Sand Springs area and attended Shady Grove School in Osage County.  Willard owned and operated W. J. Shipley Trash Service in Tulsa and surrounding communities.

After retirement, Willard delivered daily breakfast and lunch to elementary schools for the Owasso Public Schools Child Nutrition department, and retired again after 15 years of service. He enjoyed watching racing, had an extensive collection of toy and model cars, loved listening to old country and gospel music, liked to travel, and was always ready for a trip to a casino. He was a proud member of the Penney Park Gang (of the 50's & 60's) and attended their annual reunions.

Willard was thoughtful and kind, always giving of himself and loved to do kind acts for those around him. He never met a stranger and loved to visit with old friends as well as new. He enjoyed driving trucks and felt honored when asked to drive a van to pick up folks who needed a ride to church. He had a servant heart so when he moved into assisted living, you could find him bringing a cup of coffee to a friend, or pushing someone in a wheelchair down the hall.

Willard lived a full life and made lots of great memories.  He is survived by his children, nieces, nephews, grand and great grandkids.  We will always remember his sweet smile, wave, and saying "See ya around like a donut".
