Thomas
Jul 1, 1957 — Jan 28, 2026
Sand Springs
Willard Scott Thomas, age 68, passed from this life on January 28, 2026.
Services are under the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Home.
Will was born on July 1, 1957, in Syracuse, New York, to Willard and Helen Thomas. He spent his early years in Syracuse, New York, and later graduated from Solvay High School in 1975. Soon after high school, Will joined the United States Navy, serving with pride and honor for more than 21 years.
During his naval career, Will served as a parachute rigger aboard aircraft carriers and was responsible for the parachutes used by F-18 pilots. Later, he served with Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD). His service reflected dedication, precision, and commitment to those he served alongside.
Following his retirement from the Navy, Will began a career in information technology. He worked in the IT department at OneOK and later completed his professional career with Devon Energy.
In the late 1980s, Will met the love of his life, Jane, at the beach in Virginia Beach, Virginia. From the start, they were a perfect match. They were married on October 30, 1993, and spent more than 30 years together as devoted partners and a true team.
Will enjoyed anything involving the outdoors. He was an avid deer hunter, and insured nothing was wasted from anything that he harvested. He and Jane loved to travel, especially taking small road trips to wherever the road might lead. One of their favorite destinations was Eureka Springs, Arkansas. Will also enjoyed all John Wayne movies and spending time at home with family.
Above all, Will cherished his grandchildren. He took them to the races, set up tents in the living room, and was always present for whatever adventure they imagined. They brought him tremendous joy, and retirement allowed him the time he treasured most—being with family.
Will was preceded in death by his parents, Willard and Helen, and his sister, Leslie.
He is survived by his loving wife, Jane Thomas; his children, Trevor, Nicole, Nathan, Elizabeth, and Janice; his brothers, Lenny and Lee; his sister, Sheila; and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Will's life was defined by service, devotion, and quiet strength. He will be deeply missed and forever remembered for his love of family, his unwavering loyalty, and the many memories he created with those who were fortunate enough to know him. Though he is no longer with us, the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love he gave will remain a cherished legacy in the hearts of his family and friends.
