In Loving Memory of William Rex Moore

9/17/1936– 6/12/2025

It is with deep sorrow and much love that we announce the passing of beloved husband, devoted father, proud grandfather, uncle and good friend, William Rex Moore, age 88, of Tulsa, OK who left us on June 12th, 2025 surrounded by family and memories of a life well-lived.

Born on September 17th, 1936 in Booneville, AR, to Austin and Alpha Moore. Rex was a proud Marine, a skilled machinist, and a man who truly knew how to enjoy life's simple pleasures. His hands could build or fix just about anything, and his heart had room for everyone he met, especially the love of his life, Ruby Moore, who he was married to for 61 years and their two children, Mike Moore and Terri Moore. He adored his grandchildren, Chris Moore, Brandon Moreland and great grandchild Bella Moore.

A man of many passions, Rex found peace in nature, joy in competition, and meaning in community. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who could sit still for hours in a tree stand or cast a line with patience only learned through experience. When the seasons changed, he was just as happy tending his garden — always growing something good, always willing to share.

He loved the game of baseball, especially when it meant cheering on his grandson. As a mentor and supporter of youth baseball, he spent countless hours at the ballpark.

Bowling nights, casino nights, road trips with friends and family, and evenings spent with a Crown and Coke in hand were some of his favorite ways to unwind. He lived with a sense of adventure and humor, always ready with a story or a laugh. He believed in hard work, loyalty, and taking time to enjoy life along the way.

Rex proudly served in the United States Marine Corps, carrying the values of honor, courage, and commitment throughout his life. That same discipline and pride carried into his work as a machinist, a craft he practiced with skill and care for many years at 20th Century and Gardner Denver.

He is survived by one grandson, Chris Moore (Tina) and one great grandchild, Bella Moore, all of Broken Arrow, OK as well as a wide circle of friends and extended family.
He was preceded in death by his wife Ruby Moore, his parents Austin and Alpha Moore, his sister Betty, his two children, Mike and Terri Moore and his grandson Brandon Moreland.

A funeral service will be held on Friday, June 20th at the Jim Groesbeck Memorial Chapel at Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service in Sand Springs, OK at 2 p.m.  Interment at Woodland Memorial Park.

Rex was a man who worked hard, loved deeply, and lived fully. We'll miss his steady hand, his strong voice, and the way he always made time — for a fish, a story, a ballgame, or a drink with friends.

Semper Fi, Rex. You were one of the good ones.
