Zachary Paul Smith, Sr., known by all as "Zach," was a larger-than-life presence whose energy, brilliance, and humor filled every room he walked into. After being reported missing in December 2024, Zach was tragically found on April 13, 2025, at the age of 49. Arrangements are entrusted to the care of Mobley-Groesbeck Funeral Service of Sand Springs.

A memorial service celebrating his remarkable life will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at Reach Church, with his brother Gene Smith officiating.

Zach was born on January 22, 1976, in Virginia to Eugene Curtis Smith, Sr. and Betsy (Hodges) Smith. He grew up in the Jenks community and attended Jenks High School, where he was a talented athlete, wrestling and playing basketball.

Zach married Shay Reinkemeyer, and together they shared 20 years of marriage and raised three children: Brittany, Zachary, and Zayne. A dedicated father and driven provider, Zach worked as a traveling electrician and also served as an EMT with several fire departments, including Black Mud Fire Department in Kentucky and Yorktown Fire Department in Indiana.

In February 2013, Zach met the love of his life, Kathy Lynn (Hough) Hammans, at a casino—a place he loved to go and play his luck. We all won that night. They were married on September 19, 2020, at their home and together, they blended a beautiful family and built a business and life full of love, laughter, and endless adventure.

Zach had a brilliant mind and entrepreneurial spirit from a young age. He flipped houses, launched businesses, and in 2017, he and Kathy proudly opened Electrical Alliances. He was a master electrician, a barbecue enthusiast (especially known for his brisket), and a fireworks showman who put on unforgettable 4th of July celebrations. He was most proud of building his son Zayne's home and his own—both labors of love.

To know Zach was to be part of the show—because he was the show. The main character, the prankster, the salesman, the storyteller. He once orchestrated an elaborate Santa vs. Grinch scavenger hunt in Sand Springs in December 2023, leaving smiles and laughter in his wake. He loved the water—boating and beach days were his joy—and he never met a stranger. Whether grilling in the backyard, cracking jokes, or just connecting with people, Zach had a way of making everyone feel seen and important.

He is preceded in death by his father, Eugene Curtis Smith, Sr.

Zach is survived by his loving wife, Kathy Smith; his children: Brittany Rangel, Zachary Smith, Jr. and wife Emily, Zayne Smith and fiancée Hayven, Taylor Hohenfeldt and husband Derek, Bailey Holsapple and husband Danny, and Zachary Hammans; his mother, Betsy Smith and husband, Scott Weir; his beloved grandchildren: Landon, Logan, Lyla, Olivia, Kambri, Kaydence, Preston, D.J., William, Pharos, and Ryzer; and his siblings: David Smith and wife Kelly, Gene Smith and wife Jennifer, and Shannon Smith.

Zach's legacy is one of passion, laughter, adventure, and deep love for his family. He was infamous and legendary, hilarious and generous, intelligent and hardworking—forever the spark in every gathering, and forever missed.
