Zona Gayle Van Arsdale was born to Delma and William Arthur Newell on February 8,1934 in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

A lifelong resident of Berryhill, Zona was an outstanding student and basketball player. Her family shared an appreciation for outdoor activities and the memories they created. Throughout her life, she enjoyed many artistic pursuits and was an avid collector of beautiful things.

Zona was married to Edward B. Van Arsdale in 1954. She and her family were longtime members of Allen Freewill Baptist and later, Carbondale Assembly of God.

Zona was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Darrell, Ronnie, Richard; and daughter, Beverly Ann. She is survived by her husband; daughter, Reva Kay; brother, Charlie; sister, Linda; sisters-in-law, Gib Livingston and Jean B. Newell; and her beloved four-legged constant companions, Zack and Zane.

The family would like to thank the staff of Amedisys Hospice and Oxford Glen Memory Care in Owasso for their support. Special appreciation to Hospice Chaplain Josh Drury for his comforting kindness.

A gathering of family and friends celebrating her life will be held on Saturday, February 3 from 2-5 p.m. in the chapel at Mobley-Groesbeck, Sand Springs.
